This Privacy Policy explains how Optim Enterprises B.V. (“Aether”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use the Aether platform and related services (the “Service”). We are committed to data minimisation: Aether is designed so that subscriber network data can be processed at the edge rather than centralised.
1. Controller
The controller for personal data processed through the Service is Optim Enterprises B.V., a private limited company (besloten vennootschap) incorporated in the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce number 70926638, registered office in Amsterdam, Netherlands. 2. Data we collect
- Account data — name, email address, organisation, and login credentials.
- Billing contact data — the billing name, email, and country used at checkout. Card and payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
- Service usage and telemetry — device and fleet metadata, configuration, event logs, and diagnostic information needed to operate the Service.
- Support communications — the content of messages you send us for support or enquiries.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- To provide and operate the Service and your account — legal basis: performance of a contract.
- To process payments, invoicing, and taxes — legal basis: performance of a contract and compliance with a legal obligation.
- To secure, maintain, and improve the Service and prevent abuse — legal basis: our legitimate interests.
- To communicate with you about the Service, including service and billing notices — legal basis: contract and legitimate interests.
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations — legal basis: legal obligation.
4. Sub-processors
We use a limited set of trusted third parties to process personal data on our behalf, under appropriate data-processing terms:
- Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd) — our Merchant of Record and payment processor. Paddle processes billing and payment personal data to take payment, calculate and remit taxes, and issue invoices.
- Airwallex — our financial services provider, used to receive and reconcile payouts and settlements.
Each provider processes personal data only as needed for its function. We will update this list if our sub-processors change.
5. International transfers
Some sub-processors may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, the transfer is protected by an appropriate safeguard, such as an adequacy decision or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. Billing and tax records are retained for the period required by law. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request erasure of your data;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

8. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging, to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
9. Cookies
The Service uses only cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate it, such as maintaining your authenticated session. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
10. Children
The Service is intended for use by adults administering their own network or an organisation’s network. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email, and the “last updated” date above will be revised.
