What counts as a device? Any managed endpoint registered in Aether — an AP, a router, a mesh node. Cameras and IoT sensors managed via the OptimNVR or OptimIOT integration are counted in those platforms separately and are not double-counted in Aether. Aether Enterprise customers can negotiate flat per-premise pricing for residential ISP deployments.
Common questions.
Is pricing per radio or per device?
Per managed device (AP, router, mesh node) — not per radio. A tri-band mesh node with 3 radios counts as 1 device. A 48-port switch managed via Aether counts as 1 device.
Can I white-label the subscriber app?
Yes, on Pro and Enterprise tiers. The Aether Home app ships as a white-label React Native package. Your branding, your app store listing. We provide the binary build pipeline.
What's included in the AI features?
Prometheus (RF optimizer + anomaly detection), Argus (IoT fingerprinting + ML classifier), and Aegis (threat feeds + DNS filtering) are included from Pro tier up. No separate AI licence fee. Ever.
On-premise or cloud?
Both. Aether Open and Pro can be self-hosted on Kubernetes (Helm chart included). Enterprise adds managed cloud hosting with data residency options across EU, US, and APAC regions.
Can I migrate from OpenWiFi?
Yes. Hermes speaks the full uCentral/TIP protocol natively. Your existing OpenWiFi devices connect to Aether without firmware changes. We provide a migration guide and dedicated onboarding for operators with 1,000+ devices.
Are early access rates permanent?
Yes. Early access partners lock in their rate for the lifetime of the contract. Founding partner pricing will not be available at GA launch. The $0.30/device/mo Pro rate is for early access only.
